Certificate of criminal record

If you are or previously have been a resident in Denmark, you can request an international certificate of criminal record.

In case you have no registered convictions in Denmark, the certificate can be issued in English, German, French and Spanish. If you do have convictions, the certificate will only be issued in Danish. If you need the certificate in another language, you will need to get the document translated via a certified translation agency at your own expense.

In order to issue the certificate, we need the following:

  • A written and signed request (the are no specific form required)
  • A copy/photo of your valid passport
  • The postal address where to send the certificate

The processing time is currently up to five working days from the time we have received all the required information. Your certificate will be sent by regular postal service. Due to differences in postal delivery services, we are not able to specify, when you will receive your certificate.
Due to Danish legislation we are not able to send the certificate by email.

Requesting your certificate of criminal record is free of charge.

If you have MitID you can request the certificate of criminal record online (please note that the form is in Danish).
